A Yeoman
Warder!
Tower Bridge
Amazing show!
Fish and chips to start off our East End Food Tour!
Day 3: The Tower of London, East End Food Tour & More!

Greetings!

We started our morning at the Tower of London with its opening ceremony, stepping inside before the crowds arrived. Did you know that around 120 people actually live within the Tower walls? They are mostly former British military members and their families! The ceremonies and tours are led by the Yeoman Warders, also known as Beefeaters, who have guarded the Tower since 1485. Walking through the Tower with them felt like traveling straight into England’s living history.

Then, we went on an East End food tour!
First stop: Classic fish and chips. Fun fact we learned — the meal isn't originally British, and it was one of the only foods not rationed during the war. Crispy, comforting, and very on-theme for wandering London's streets.

From there we dove into bold flavors with Indian and Bangladeshi dishes: garlic chili chicken tikka masala, lamb bhuna, and a mixed vegetable Bangali that somehow managed to be both hearty and delicate at the same time. Every bite felt layered and deeply comforting.
Then came a true East End icon — a beigel (the Polish spelling for bagel), piled high with corned beef, sharp English mustard, and crunchy pickles. Simple, salty, perfect.

We finished on the sweetest note imaginable: apple crumble, stewed with cinnamon, topped with shortbread biscuit crumble, hot vanilla custard, marshmallow meringue, and even edible rose petals. It felt indulgent, cozy, and just a little magical!

Later that evening, we toured Tower Bridge and saw Hamilton! It was an incredible day! Check out the pictures below.

Wish you were here,
